4th Grade Class Page

4th Grade Class 4-401

4th Grade cover a range of skills across subjects. In English Language Arts (ELA), scholars will continue to refine reading, writing, and communication skills. This includes analyzing complex texts, writing for different purposes, and developing a deeper understanding of language conventions.

In Mathematics, 4th-grade scholars will build on foundational concepts such as multiplication, division, fractions, and geometry. The standards emphasize problem-solving, mathematical reasoning, and a more advanced understanding of mathematical principles.

In Science, scholars will explore topics in life science, physical science, and earth and space science with a greater emphasis on conceptual understanding and scientific inquiry. This may involve more complex experiments and investigations.

Social studies standards for 4th graders often include the study of local and state history, government, and geography, fostering a broader understanding of civic responsibilities and historical context.

The overall aim of the Next Generation Learning Standards for 4th Grade is to provide a comprehensive education that supports cognitive, social, and emotional development. For the most current information, it is advisable to check with the New York State Education Department or relevant educational authorities.
